All too often we only see what is wrong in our life. But there is a lot of good going on in our life. We have to embrace it. Because life can change in an instant.
I remember being young and naive, never really experiencing death.
One day my grandmother fainted while walking on the side of the road. She had pancreatic cancer. After a hospital stay and surgery, there wasn’t anything they could do. She was going to die. The doctors said it had spread. They gave her 6 months to live. She lived 18 months.
The crazy thing is I didn’t cherish the time. I wish I could have listened more and loved her more.
I wish I had been by her bedside more.
I am so thankful for the times we had. I am happy about the things she taught me. I am happy about her life.
Before that day, I had taken life for granted. I was go go go. I wanted to become a millionaire. I was so focused on that until I missed what was working in my life one of which was that I hadn’t experienced death in my family since my grandfather had passed away approximately 30 years prior.
Be grateful for the small things. Be grateful for all things. The bad for all they will teach you. The good for the enjoyment of it.
What is working in your life?
